The SymplyWORKSPACE  reports the Data Array button as RED.  The SymplyWORKSPACE buzzer is sounding.  There is a RED light on one of the drive indicators on the front of the SymplyWORKSPACE

Check the Data Array button in SymplyWORKSPACE Assistant to see if there are disks reported as failed. As standard the SymplyWORKSPACE is pre-configured as RAID 5. If more than one of the data drives is showing as failed, then unfortunately the data volume will have failed. Please submit a ticket with [Symply Support]

The RED warning in the SymplyWORKSPACE Assistant indicates a data drive failure. Mouse over the Data Array to discover which data drive has failed.

If your system has been moved and the disks removed and re-inserted it could be that some of the data drives are not correctly seated and are being reported as failed. In this case use the SymplyWORKSPACE Assistant to shut down the SymplyWORKSPACE, and follow the procedure below.

Once the system is shut down, carefully eject and reseat the individual drives making sure they are properly installed. Power on the SymplyWORKSPACE. In 3-4 minutes you will be able to access the SymplyWORKSPACE Assistant to check the status of the volume.

A failed data drive is also indicated on the front of the SymplyWORKSPACE with a RED LED indicating its position in the chassis.

You can mute the buzzer by using the button on the rear of the SymplyWORKSPACE, labelled “I” on the system diagram. Or by using the Mute Buzzer button in theof the SymplyWORKSPACE Assistant.

Please submit a ticket with [Symply Support] for a warranty replacement data drive.

If you have purchased a spare data drive from Symply, you can remove the failed drive and insert the new drive.

CAUTION make sure the correct failed drive is removed from the system
The drives are number 1 through 12, drive number 1 is located at the top of the chassis

In a few moments the RAID controller will start to beep every few seconds to indicate the re-build is in progress. You can mute the beeper either by pressing the mute button on the SymplyWORKSACE, or by pressing the Mute Buzzer option in the SymplyWORKSPACE .
