Can I use my USB-C port on my computer to connect my Thunderbolt LTO device?

No, afraid not! Whilst USB-C and Thunderbolt™ share the same physical port design, Thunderbolt™ products are not compatible with USB-C only host interfaces. In order to use any Thunderbolt™ device, the host computer must have a Thunderbolt™ port. SymplyPRO Thunderbolt 3 products are backwards compatible with Thunderbolt 2™, providing the OS is at a sufficient level, more information on Thunderbolt™ 2 to Thunderbolt™ 3 compatibility [click here].

SymplyPRO Thunderbolt™ products can be used with hot computers that have Thunderbolt 4 and Thunderbolt 5 host ports.

The cable and port on your computer must have the Thunderbolt™ Logo. SymplyPRO Thunderbolt products also cannot connect via USB on dock etc… For more information on Thunderbolt™ cables [click here]
