IBM has issued an end of life support notice for the Windows LTFS version dated end of April, 2023. Version 2.4.5 will be the final version of LTFS for Windows.

There is currently a known issue with Windows 10 and 11 caused by security patches, when using Windows Explorer to write data to an LTFS tape. This issue does not affect Windows Server 2016 or 2019. For more information see:
Symply encourages users to move to using LTFS on the macOS or Linux (Red Hat / SUSE), should they require future LTFS updates.
